Course Description
As catechists, it is sometimes difficult to articulate answers when in comes to questions of faith. This course will consist of the following topics to address this
• The existence of God
• The Christ in history, the truth of Christianity
• Religion and Science
• The tenets of the Catholic faith
• How God is at work in the Church today
Course Purpose
- inspire catechists to be excited about their faith and
- equip them to always be prepared to give a reason for the hope that they have (cf. 1 Peter 3:15) by addressing questions of faith.
Speaker/Trainer
Kelvin Chia - Founding Member, ACT
Kelvin is a founding member of the Apostolate for Catholic Truth (ACT), a group dedicated to explaining the Catholic faith, its doctrines and practices. Since the establishment of ACT in 1994, Kelvin has given hundreds of talks to many groups and organisations in the Archdiocese of Singapore. He is a litigation lawyer in private practice and is married with 3 children.

Contribution Fee
Waived by Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Singapore
Notwithstanding the waiver of contribution fee, participants are required to register for all courses and events to assist us in the booking of appropriate rooms, the printing of materials and arrangement of tea and snacks, etc. In the event of foreseeable no-shows, we encourage participants to inform the office in advance to help prevent wastage of resources
- Attendance - Participants must achieve 80% attendance for the modules registered. Please inform us if you are unable to attend the session.
- Course Notes - All course notes will be available via soft copy.
- Punctuality - Participants are encouraged to be punctual. Being more than THIRTY (30) minutes late for any session is deemed absent.
- Substitution - Request for substitution has to be made in writing, e.g., via email and subject to acceptance by OFC, subjected to eligibility requirements
- Withdrawal - As this course tends to be fully subscribed and to allow others on the wait-list to attend the course, a no-show penalty of the course fees may be imposed.
- Cancellation/Postponement of Courses - OFC reserves the right to cancel or postpone any course due to unforeseen circumstances. In these circumstances, OFC will refund payments made, if any.
