Course Description
Although catechesis cannot be thought of merely as preparation for the sacraments, sacramental catechesis remains important as sacraments, celebrated in liturgy, are a special means that fully communicate Christ who is proclaimed by the Church (cf. Pontifical Council for Promoting New Evangelisation, Directory for Catechesis (DC) 81 and 96). It is also in the ‘sacraments’, especially in the Eucharist, that Christ Jesus works in fullness for the transformation of human beings’ (John Paul II on Catechesis in Our Time, 23).
Topics covered in the three sessions include: -
Session 1 – Intro to the Sacraments in General
Session 2 – Sacraments of Baptism and Confirmation
Session 3 – Sacraments of the Eucharist and Penance and Reconciliation
