COURSE DESCRIPTION
Where did I come from? What am I? Where am I going?
Christian Anthropology examines the questions of the origin, nature and destiny of the human person as revealed by God. Understanding this vision of the person as relational and social (in relationship with God and with neighbour), undergirds the Church’s teaching on morality, sin and redemption, participation in sacramental life, human sexuality and relationships, and end-of-life issues – to name a few.
COURSE PURPOSE
This course aims to: -
equip participants with an understanding of the truths/concepts of human nature and personhood, sin, grace and freedom with reference to God,
explore the elements fundamental for the proclamation of faith (Directory for Catechesis, 378) which include:
God is the first and ultimate point of reference of life, from its conception until natural death,
The person is always a unity of spirit and body,
Life must be accepted no matter what its condition, because it has been redeemed by the Paschal mystery of Jesus Christ.
*This course (as of 2022) is a pre-requisite for BCC04 Introduction to Morality.
