In this course, participants will gain a deeper understanding of the Catholic vision of Evangelisation as well as learn the fundamental skills for sharing their faith and inviting others to encounter Jesus Christ in the catechetical journey. Catechists will be invited to consider the urgency for and primacy of the kerygma in catechesis (Preface from the new Directory for Catechesis).
Over the 3 sessions, topics covered include: -

Working towards a kerygmatic catechesis

Getting into Specifics: Who? When? Where?
We highly encourage participants to attend a retreat as part of this course in order to deepen their relationship with the Lord through an experience of the Kerygma. This retreat component is a requirement for those seeking the certificate of completion.
The following are recognised as fulfilling the retreat component of BCC - Evangelisation & Mission:
Archdiocesan Catechists’ Retreat (next run in 2026)
Conversion Experience Retreat (CER) and Breathe Retreat by the Catholic Spirituality Centre (CSC)

Participants should have attended any of the above retreats within 3 years before completing their certification. Please use the attached BCC Retreat Endorsement Submission form for retreat endorsement.
