Communi-Tea: Navigating through Challenges in Catechesis
1 Session
Tuesday | 05 August l 2025
7:30 pm - 10:00 pm
CANA The Catholic Centre
55 Waterloo St,
Singapore 187954
Through the Communi-Tea events, we seek to:
reflect on our current praxis in light of the Directory for Catechesis (DC)
share best practices and ideas as to how we can renew our work in catechesis
grow our catechetical community by supporting and encouraging each other as we live out our vocation as catechists
Are you finding it a challenge to apply what you picked up from courses in the weekly sessions?
Are you facing difficulties in creating a conducive prayer space for your candidates?
Are you struggling to balance between delivering content and managing how candidates conduct themselves?
“The awareness of his own limitations cannot discourage the catechist from welcoming the call to service; on the contrary, he can respond to it by relying on his living relationship with the Lord and on the desire to live the Christian life with authenticity, generously making available to the community the “five loaves and two fish” (cf. Mk 6:38) of his personal charisms.”
– Directory for Catechesis (2020), 138
“All of us are called to offer others an explicit witness to the saving love of the Lord, who despite our imperfections offers us his closeness, his word and his strength, and gives meaning to our lives.”
– Evangelii Gaudium (2013), 121
During this session we will be:
Reflecting more intentionally on how we can respond when faced with challenges in the catechetical ministry, some of which may be beyond our control
Drawing on communal wisdom for practical ways to manage issues that surface in the prayer space and beyond
