"I want to state clearly that young people themselves are agents of youth ministry. Certainly, they need to be helped and guided, but at the same time left free to develop new approaches, with creativity and certain audacity."
- Pope Francis, Christus Vivit (2019), 203
"Recognition must be given to the value of the creative and co-responsible contribution that young people themselves make to catechesis. The catechetical service of the young is a stimulus for their very growth in the faith."
- Pontifical Council for Promoting the New Evangelisation, Directory for Catechesis (2020), 255
The Catholic Church is inviting her young members to play an active role in reaching out and sharing the faith with their peers and those younger than them.
Kickstart your young catechists and other interested youths in their ministry journey through this customised track which provides them foundational knowledge of catechesis, practical experience, and opportunities to interact with like-spirited people of all ages.
"There is also a need for renewed commitment to catechists, who are often young and serving other young people, virtually their contemporaries. It is important to take sufficient care over their formation and to see that their ministry is more widely recognised by the community."
- Pontifical Council for Promoting the New Evangelisation, Directory for Catechesis (2020), 255
