The family is a community of love and of life.
Familiaris Consortio 15
It is the “natural place in which faith can be lived in a simple and spontaneous manner” (Directory for Catechesis [DC] 227). As catechists, our role in the parish community is to “accompany and support parents in their task of transmitting life” and faith (DC 230). Therefore, as catechists, we are to hone our craft as we engage parents such that they will be excited about their faith, and are encouraged to share it at home and beyond the family circle.
During this workshop, catechists will learn how to use parent formation session outlines as well as curriculum session plans to engage parents (of children aged 7 to 12), so that, working in communion with catechists, what has been shown in catechetical sessions, is allowed to deepen and take root at home.
