Taking into consideration the pre-requisites necessary for maturing to the next step of the RCIA journey as well as the characteristics of the divine pedagogy, the course seeks to: 

• help participants identify the appropriate order of themes for each period of the RCIA process 

• prepare those serving in the RCIA ministry, as assistants or facilitators, by equipping them with a) theoretical knowledge and b) the practical applications of catechesis as follows:

A) Theoretical knowledge of:

• the aim, nature, and purpose of catechesis

• the pedagogy of God and the 12 characteristics of catechesis

• the Ecclesial Method of handing on the faith and the Elements of Human Methodologies

• adult catechesis 

• the flow of content vs Periods and Steps in the RCIA process so that the faith may be presented systematically and organically

B) Practical applications of catechesis by providing them with the opportunities to:

• learn how to use the Catechism of the Catholic Church^

• craft reflection question

• experience how presentations, e.g. Breaking of the Word and Scrutinies, are to be offered in the prayer space through demonstration by trainers 

• participate in group presentations and learn from their peers

Notwithstanding the waiver of the contribution fee, participants are required to register for all courses and events to assist us in the booking of appropriate rooms, the printing of materials and the arrangement of tea and snacks, etc. In the event of foreseeable no-shows, we encourage participants to inform the office in advance to help prevent the wastage of resources.
